I had to watch V... Personally I thought it looked visually better but it still was just as bad as always... _________________

yesterday, so you should be able to watch it soon on the internet... ABC is not going to have the repeat until Sunday Nov. 7th. However, I'm not certain if you can watch the ABC stuff internationally. I've heard that international servers have had trouble with America TV programs on them. You might try Itune.
I plan on writing up a lengthy review for it... I just don't have the time now to do so. _________________

Mmm let's say that I've other means to watch ABC programs... ;)
Thanks for the signalation, I'll check it out, I'm a great fan of the old series and I still remember when it aired in 1984.
It was VERY popular and my cousin had a serious crush for Donovan. _________________ Successfully bringing fine Tv shows like BSG and Caprica to you.

Ok I watched it.
It wasn't so bad, although it doesn't have the qualities of the series of the 80s.
Most of the fortune of this show depends by the next episodes...Mr.PM...when it's the next one? _________________ Successfully bringing fine Tv shows like BSG and Caprica to you.

So far I liked the original a lot better. They skipped over too much backstory for the premiere to be interesting, IMO. _________________ At least I can say I'm not the Snacko. |

The original has no real backstory... They show up, they say they've studied Earth and therefore can speak English, they say they come in peace, they start killing of what appears to be Random Scientists with no direct contact to Visitors... and poor take over. This new one is about the same. _________________

In the old one, they had merely been listening in on us for some time. In the new one, they've been here for years, have completely infiltrated the governments of the world, and humans have already discovered them and had formed resistance groups years ago. In the original, we got to see humans initially become suspicious, discover what was going on, and start to organize. _________________ At least I can say I'm not the Snacko. |

I'm not sure how I feel about the remake yet. I enjoyed it, and I enjoyed watching the repeat of the original mini last weekend on skiffy.
If the remake goes in the direction I think it may, I can say I won't be as happy with it. The 80s version was great almost because Science was the putative bad guy - the remake has none of that overtone yet, and it looks as tho the girl from Lost is going to be the heroine FBI chick. Which is fine, but I think the original will prove more interesting: having a defined and relatively innocuous group - scientists - be the Bad People According to the Vistors. I don't see any group per se being targeted by the Vs in the new one, and that makes me sad.
The other thing that annoyed me slightly was the shadow cell element - the Vs are among us and they are Al Queda. I'm not really sure about that story line.
I am happy to see they are going to keep the Fifth Column story alive.
It's pretty early to say I love it or I hate it. It intrigued me enough to say that I will keep watching. _________________

Zoe, in the original series the scientists weren't a relatively innocous group, they were the only people who could have found out about the visitors, therefore it was obvious to target them.
The entire old series was a metaphor of Nazism, and the scientists were the equivalent of the jews...for the rest I agree with your judgement: the series could be great or horrible, it depends by the next episodes.
P.S.I would need some readers for my novel, are you up to volunteer? _________________ Successfully bringing fine Tv shows like BSG and Caprica to you.
